Squamish Engagement Photography - Adrienne + Jeff

Earlier this summer I had the pleasure of capturing some engagement photos for Adrienne and Jeff in Squamish. We met at the Estuary which has some amazing views of the Stawamus Chief (one of the largest granite monoliths in the world), then on to one of my favourite places in Squamish - the Paradise Valley Road, which has a beautiful a natural tree arch.

I asked Adrienne to tell me a little about their story:

Our relationship was founded and has been built on taking big leaps.

It all started on a chilly afternoon in September when Jeff and I met for our first date. After meeting on Tinder (yup, we are those people) and only having chatted a little we agreed to meet in-person. We slowly walked around the Four Lakes Trail in Squamish, our conversation was easy and our pace slow - as to not trample the little frogs underfoot. We ended our date with a loose plan to hang out again.

Fast forward to our third date and we leapt again, only a few weeks after we met, Jeff and I were sitting in the window and aisle seat on a flight on our way to Mexico for a 10 day couples vacation. This adventure was filled with so many wonderful memories for us like scuba diving together, hiking, chatting with friendly locals, watching a turtle lay her eggs on the beach and of course eating amazing food. Most importantly, during sunset on Cerritos beach with our dear friends - and my courage fuelled by a few Margaritas - I asked Jeff to be my “man friend” and just like that it was official.

Only months later, Jeff’s lease ran up and naturally we jumped at the opportunity to move-in together. Jeff made my place our home by building us new furniture and I labelled and organized everything, as we are each known to do.

A few years passed and Jeff and I decided to take the next big leap and purchased a town-home in Squamish together. We knew we saw at the least the foreseeable future of our life together here and wanted to make it official.

Our story would not be complete without mention of our fur-child. This was the only decision we somewhat disagreed on. While I was there throwing myself at the prospect of getting a dog, Jeff was much more practical. But thankfully he finally gave in and in December of 2019 we adopted Ginger, who has made our little family complete.

Now we are onto our next adventure and during a global pandemic, after having spent 100% of our time together, and loving every single minute of it, I knew it was time for the next leap. So on a sunny afternoon in April, Jeff and I went to the beach to walk Ginger, who had learned a new trick and presented him with a question rolled up in a toilet paper roll (very timely!) that said “Daddy will you marry Mommy?” Jeff turned around to see me on one knee holding his grandfather’s wedding ring with tears in my eyes. Thankfully he leaped too and said yes.

We are now preparing for our wedding with loose plans, given the times. But we are planning to bring it full circle and celebrate our marriage with our close family and friends in Mexico in the Spring of 2022.

Congratulations and thanks again for a fun engagement photo session Adrienne and Jeff!
