Big Sky Golf Course Wedding - Pemberton, BC | Jen + Chris

Big Sky Golf Course is a stunning course at the foot of Mount Currie in Pemberton. The club house is a great wedding venue option, offering endless mountain views with the surrounding greenery of the golf course. Big Sky is a short drive north of Whistler, it’s one of the most spectacular golf courses I have had the pleasure of playing. The venue has a couple of options for ceremony locations, either on the first tee or on their beautiful restaurant patio. Both options have jaw dropping views of Mount Currie and the surrounding course.

Big Sky Golf Course is a fantastic location for wedding photography - there is no need to leave the location for wedding portraits as the course already has tons of options - from intimate photographs under the willow trees to epic mountain views on the golf course.
The clubhouse is modern with rustic charm, and depending on the size of your wedding, you can be inside, or for smaller intimate weddings there is the option to eat on the terrace.

Jen reached out to me as her and Chris were looking for a more natural, candid photographer for their wedding at Big Sky Golf Course - perfect, that’s how I roll!

On the day of the wedding, I met Jen at her house in Pemberton for some candid photos of her and her bridesmaids getting ready - one of my favourite photos is when Jen gives her parents a ‘first look’ of her ready in her dress by walking down the stairs.
Then it was on to the wedding ceremony and reception location at Big Sky Golf Course, where I met Chris and his groomsmen for a few portraits.

The summer had been very warm and dry causing a lot of forest fires in BC, which meant there was a very smokey sky on their wedding day - luckily it wasn’t as bad as the previous few weeks and you could still see Mt Currie in the background.

Jen and Chris chose the first tee for their wedding ceremony location, and Jen’s brother and brother-in-law performed the ceremony in front of their closest family and friends.
As Jen and Chris wanted natural and candid photography, I found the perfect spot for the photo and let them just be themselves, offering a little help if needed.
They had their first dance on the patio, followed by Jen and her Dad, and Chris and his Mum, dancing together - with an emotional crowd watching from the side.
Carlee from Pocketful Productions was their wedding planner, and set up the most amazing table on the terrace of the club house.
The wedding celebrations continued back at Jen and Chris place for house party!

Here’s a few things Jen and Chris had to say about the day:

What did you love about Big Sky Golf Course as a wedding venue:

“the backdrop! Mount Currie, even having a smoky haze, made a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony and photos. Of course you did an awesome job capturing it as well!”

What was your favourite moment of the day?

“It was the ceremony - It was so special for us having my brother and future brother in law perform it for us with such an intimate crowd.”

Do you have any advice for future couples getting married at Big Sky Golf Course?

“Honestly I don’t know if I have advice per se. They made it so seamless and easy for us to plan and organize the day and were so great the day of. I couldn’t recommend them enough in general!”

If you are planning a wedding at Big Sky Golf course and looking for a wedding photographer, I would love to hear from you! Let’s chat over a beer/coffee or if you’re not in the sea to sky area we can meet over a Zoom call.
