Surprise Proposal at Lost Lake, Whistler |Daniel + Brittany

Daniel contacted me to capture his surprise proposal in Whistler. We planned it on a weekend that happened to have a layer of smoke from the US wildfires, but luckily you could still see the mountains. I suggested the Lost Lake dock as it has beautiful views of Whistler Mountain. It was the most beautiful fall morning with amazing reflections on the lake.

To keep it a surprise, I asked Daniel to text me when he walked passed the parking lot so I could ask anyone who was on the dock if they wouldn’t mind leaving the dock for a little while as there is someone planning to propose - of course everyone was more than happy to give Daniel and Brittany a little privacy for the surprise proposal.
I was hiding in the bushes/ pretending to take photos of the view when they arrived, and once they were at the end of the dock Brittany was taking photos of the view and Daniel got down on one knee and proposed to Brittany in the middle of Lost Lake, below Whistler Mountain - it was a beautiful moment on sunny fall morning.
After the proposal, we went for a walk around Lost Lake and I took some more engagement photos in the forest with beautiful soft light from the smoke - it was a stunning morning and a perfect way for Daniel and Brittany to end their two years of travelling together, as they were heading back to New Zealand a few days later.

Congratulations Daniel and Brittany!
