Whistler Fall Engagement Session | Natasha + Andrew
Natasha and Andrew had to postpone their wedding in Ontario due to COVID, so instead they decided to take a trip to Whistler and celebrate their original wedding day with an engagement session. When the day came around we were lucky with the weather even though there was a layer of smoke in the Whistler valley from the wildfires down in the US, it was a very warm October evening.
We went on an adventure for their engagement photos in the Cheakamus neighbourhood, a short drive south of Whistler, we walked towards the Cheakamus river and surrounding forest. The light was stunning down by the river, and the combination of smoke, sunset and waterfall spray was crazy beautiful!
Afterwards we headed up to a view point on Whistler mountain to catch the last of the sunset, it was a beautiful way to celebrate their engagement with photos on their original wedding day.
Here’s a little story of how they met and got engaged:
Andrew and I met in college when I was having lunch with one of our mutual friends. He stopped to say hi to her, and afterwards he sat at a table behind us. I couldn’t stop looking over her shoulder at him! Finally I begged her to message him and get his number for me. Only when he replied to her I was too nervous to text him. Finally, weeks later I worked up the courage to text him, and here we are almost 7 years later!
For our engagement, we took our dog for a walk on our favourite trial that we’ve walked many times before. Only this time, when we reached my favourite part of the trail, he turned me and got down on one knee. I don’t think I even heard what he was saying through my tears but I said YES!
