Fall Helicopter Engagement Photography near Whistler, BC | Leah & Vincent

Fall is definitely my favourite time of the year - the colours, wearing your favourite sweaters again and making soup! However, the weather can be very unpredictable, in the few weeks before Leah and Vincent’s engagement session we had a heat wave, smoke from the wildfires down in the USA, followed by torrential rain. We had originally planned to meet somewhere in Pemberton on a weekend when Leah was up visiting her sister, but then Leah emailed me letting me know her sister wanted to organize a helicopter for the engagement shoot and if that was OK? Ummm yes!!!
As the day was getting closer, the weather forecast started to look promising, and that morning we met at the Pemberton airfield to meet David who was taking us up in his helicopter.

We ended getting engagement photos at the foot of a huge glacier, with beautiful rock formations all around. We then flew a little further and landed in a huge open area where the glacier would have been many years ago. The fall colours were stunning along the river!

Once we were back in the helicopter, we flew down the valley and up over Mt Meager’s fumaroles - something I will never forget! In 2010, there was one of the largest landslides in Canada’s history from the peak of Mount Meager, seeing the path the landslide took from above was eye opening for sure!

Huge thanks to David, Caroline and Apple their cute little pup, who own the helicopter (also known as the Apple express) and to Leah’s sister Rebecca for setting it all up!

Looking forward to capturing more amazing photos of these two next year at their wedding!
