Whistler Winter Wedding at the Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre

Lauren and Zobair’s winter wedding at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre in Whistler, BC was a truly magical day. The couple began the day at separate locations, with Lauren getting ready with the girls at a local rental, and Zobair and the guys at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre.

Wedding Ceremony in the Istken Hall

They saw each other for the first time when Lauren walked down the aisle during their ceremony in the Istken Hall, a stunning round room with wrap around windows that fill the room with natural light and mountain views.

After exchanging their vows, we went upstairs to the the Mezzanine Patio for family portraits and wedding party photos. As the sun began to set we snuck away for more portraits around the Whistler area and were treated to snow starting to fall. The snowfall made for some truly beautiful photos - even if was a little chilly!

Wedding Reception in the Great Hall

Once we returned to the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre, the newlyweds celebrated with a fabulous reception in the Great Hall - another amazing space the SLCC has to offer for weddings! I loved hearing all the speeches - was definitely one of the funnier set of speeches I’ve heard at weddings - as you can see from Lauren & Zobair’s reactions.

Dancing in the Snow at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre

To make the night even more special, the couple and their guests were able to dance outside in the Mezzanine Patio, as snow fell around them. It was a beautiful sight, and one that no one in attendance will ever forget.

Lauren and Zobair’s wedding at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre was truly a winter wonderland, and one of the most beautiful winter weddings I’ve seen. From the stunning ceremony to the magical photos in the snow, the day was one that Lauren and Zobair will never forget.

I ask Lauren & Zobair a few questions about their day:

What did you love about your wedding location - the SLCC?

For me would be the venue itself, the floor to ceiling windows, the absolutely amazing background views and the friendly staff.

What memory from your wedding do you remember the most strongly?

Seeing my wife walking down the aisle

Funniest moment on your wedding day?

Right before the speeches my mom comes up to me in a panci, she says " I didnt know i was going to give speech" then going up and absolutely killing it

What advice would you give to future couples who are getting married?

Marriage isn't a competition. There's no gold medal for being the better partner. Marriage is a partnership, you become a team. It's no longer you vs. them it's us vs. the world. You're partners in everything so you'll either win together or lose together. Work together to find a solution

Congratulations you two!
