Whistler Winter Elopement – Savannah & Mitch

Whistler Winter Elopement at the Stone Circle

Whistler Winter Elopement

Savannah & Mitch flew all the way from Australia to elope in Whistler during the winter months. I met them at their hotel where they got ready together, but when it was time for Savannah to put on her dress – Mitch got into position for their first look. Whistler has lots of areas in the winter perfect for a first look – especially in the winter with all the snow. After their first look we drove the short distance to Lakeside Park – where the Stone Circle is located.

Stone Circle Winter Elopement

The Stone Circle is a beautiful location in the forest with views of Alta Lake and a short walk from Lakeside Park. In the winter months the area is very quiet which makes for a perfect winter elopement location.

It was a beautiful intimate ceremony with myself and the marriage commissioner’s wife as witnesses, the winter sun was shining while Mitch & Savannah said their vows with views of the frozen lake.

After the ceremony, Savannah & Mitch celebrated with their favourite whisky!

Whistler Winter Elopement Portraits

After portraits at the Stone Circle, we got in my car and drove to Green Lake for a few more photos. We caught the last of the winter sun hitting the mountains – Green Lake is the largest lake in Whistler and offers stunning views.

I reached out to Savannah & Mitch to ask them a few questions about their elopement day:

What did you love about your elopement location - Whistler/ the Stone Circle and Green Lake?

We loved coming to Whistler because it is where we met and started our relationship, and we created so many happy memories. The stone circle was beautiful, intimate, and private. Even though we did end up having a small crowd watching from a distance (I found out later!) I felt as though we could really embrace the moment with no distractions.

What memory from your Whistler elopement do you remember the most strongly?

The moment we both remember strongest was the ceremony. It felt so special because it was very intimate, we kept it short and sweet, and it was the most important part! I felt like everyone was having so much fun and I loved every second. Afterwards, I faced towards Green Lake, took a big breath in, and really took in the moment after we officiated our marriage.

What advice would you give to future couples who are eloping in Whistler during the winter?

Advice I would give for couples looking to elope in Whistler in winter would be to have some hotties hand warmers if it's chilly, and some skin coloured thermals for under your dress or suit! But all that aside, will be having way to much fun to care about that. Take in the moment and enjoy every second.

Congratulations Savannah & Mitch – I’m so happy I was part of your Winter Elopement in Whistler.
