Sunrise Photo Session - Lost Lake Whistler, BC

Sunrise Photo Session at Lost Lake in Whistler BC

Sunrise photo sessions are my favourite! I was so happy when Tyler & Xochitl agreed to an early morning photo session at Lost Lake. We started with photos at the main beach - we were the only ones around which is a rare moment at Lost Lake.
We took advantage of the morning light as we walked along the path around the lake - stopping when the sunrise glow caught them. A personal favourite location for photographs during sunrise is the dock on Lost Lake - you get calm waters, the sunrise over the mountain and beautiful reflections of the couple standing on the dock.
We finished the photoshoot back at the hotel with their gorgeous little dog!

Choosing a sunrise photo session at Lost Lake in Whistler, BC, is a fantastic option for couples. Here’s why it’s a smart choice for your photoshoot:

Less Crowds

Early mornings at Lost Lake mean fewer people biking and walking around. This allows for a more private and uninterrupted photo session, without the hassle of navigating through crowds of tourists or waiting for people to move out of your shots. It’s just you, your partner, and the beautiful scenery. It’s also great if you’re a little camera shy as there won’t be many people looking your way.

Great Light for Photos

The light during sunrise is warm and soft - ideal for photo sessions. This is often what photographers mean by ‘golden hour’ - In essence, the golden hour's light offers a combination of qualities that can elevate a photograph from ordinary to extraordinary. It's a time when the world seems to glow, offering us photographers the opportunity to capture images with unique colour and less intense shadows that's hard to achieve at any other time of day.

Cooler Temperatures

Photo sessions during sunrise also means cooler temperatures. Whistler can get very warm during the summer months, and this can mean getting a little sweaty during photo sessions - especially in locations with little shade. It’s much more comfortable for everyone involved in the photo session.

More Availability For Bookings

Opting for a sunrise photo session at Lost Lake in Whistler means greater flexibility on booking dates. The early morning hours are less sought-after by most, offering a wider selection of dates and times for your couples photo session.

More Time to Enjoy Whistler

After an early sunrise photo session at Lost Lake - you’ll have the entire day ahead of you to explore and enjoy Whistler!

Choosing a sunrise photo session at Lost Lake has so many benefits - the combination of privacy, beautiful lighting, comfortable conditions, flexible scheduling, and the opportunity to enjoy a full day in Whistler.
