Whistler Ice Cave Engagement Session | Romain & Andrea

I was very excited when Romain contacted me about photographing an engagement session at the Ice Cave near Whistler Blackcomb mountain!

Romain and Andrea have both been skiing the Whistler Blackcomb region since they first met and are both outdoor lovers, They loved the idea of having their engagement photos taken with the ice cave near Whistler as the backdrop.

I’ve lived in Whistler for over 12 years and only visited the ice cave a handful of times - each year it’s a little different, and this year was just as amazing.

The weather was very snowy in the morning, but when we met up the clouds started to disappear and we were treated to bluebird powder skiing conditions. It was so fun to take photos in fresh snow - I had to remember to hold my camera up when skiing as I was getting face shots - and so was my camera!

Once we arrived at the ice cave, Romain and Andrea changed outfits and had fun playing around and exploring the cave. When you look closely at the ice there are so many different shades of blue with old rocks trapped inside, creating the most beautiful colours and patterns.

Congratulations again to Romain and Andrea on your engagement - and thanks for letting me capture your engagement photos in such a unique location!

Here are some of my favourite photos from their Whistler ice cave engagement session.
